Google Analytics 4 Migration

Get your new Google Analytics 4 environment implemented and configured before July 1, 2023.

While you may have already implemented the tracking tag for Google Analytics 4 on your website, a proper implementation of the product involves a much more nuanced and systematic effort. We have helped several clients migrate to the new environment -- matching and enhancing the analytics capabilities they had on the previous Universal Analytics product.

What to Expect

The cost of analytics implementation varies greatly based on the complexity of the website and organizational needs. On one end of the spectrum, a simple website for a small company or entrepreneur may be completed in a half day, for an investment starting at $550. On the other end, a complex organization with a robust website may be a several week project.

What’s Included

  • More than any version before, Google Analytics 4 includes many (many) configuration options -- and some elements that were out-of-the-box in the past now require manual configuration. Our first hands-on implementation phase is to ensure that the Account and Property are properly set up and configured based on your unique business and requirements.

  • If you are migrating from a thoroughly implemented Universal Analytics property, chances are there are more than a few custom events that should be migrated to Google Analytics 4. Despite what you'd expect, Universal Analytics events do not automatically translate to work with Google Analytics 4, and therefore require manual conversion and re-implementation. Similarly, the configuration of Conversions requires a new process.

    With our experience working in Google Analytics 4, we are typically able to translate and migrate these events very efficiently.

  • Your data doesn't do you much good if it's difficult for you and your marketing stakeholders to access. With Google Analytics 4, we find it to be incredibly beneficial to utilize Looker Studio to create a comprehensive dashboard that pulls all of your primary KPIs and data points to the surface (and prevents you from having to hunt within the GA4 interface).
